The "Civil Code" specifically provides for two types of joint ownership in one thing:

Joint ownership (e.g. in a marriage or civil partnership) - each person has the right to the entirety of the thing and there is no division into shares.

Fractional joint ownership - each of the joint owners may freely dispose of their share without the consent of the other joint owners (Art. 198 of the Civil Code). And this gives you the option of selling or donating a share of the property. Each of the joint owners has their own rights and obligations. The rights related to participation are very limited because they cannot exceed the so-called ordinary management, i.e., for example, you cannot rent real estate to someone without the consent of others. One of the obligations is to pay the rent (in proportion to the share held).
